swimming with Olympians

The other weekend Cadence and I were watching Canadian swimmers qualify for the Olympic Team (see previous post: http://melaniepriceadventures.blogspot.ca/2012/04/olympic-trials.html) and this weekend Cadence was swimming at Team Championships with some of these 2012 Olympians.  Pretty cool!  She meet Tobias Oriwol and Brittany MacLean who were swimming at the swim meet.    It was exciting for the kids, and probably good for the Olympians too!

Also at the swim meet, Cadence got her 400 IM Provincial prerequisite time, taking off over 30 seconds (5:50).  This is the soonest after her birthday that she has ever managed to get an IM prereq.  In fact the IM prereq has historically been a struggle for her, as she wasn't as strong at her non-free strokes.  But now, not only did she make the time for her current age but she also made next year's time now too.  So that's so great for her!  The main difference has been fly, she has finally figured out the timing of the stroke and it has gone from worst to 2nd best with the blink of an eye. Congrats Cadence on your accumulated swimming accomplishments!  Keep it up!
